On the big day, make sure you start your day with a heavy breakfast so that you don’t need to concentrate on food later. Feed yourself a fulfilling omelette, gulp down that coffee, and get set to kickstart the day. Avoid leaving the house on an empty stomach, as it will only make you feel low on energy.
This breathing exercise will calm down your anxiety and will prepare you to face your fears head on. All you need to do is the following:
- Sit comfortably on a chair.
- Slowly breathe in through your nose so that your stomach moves out against your hand. The hand on your chest should remain as still as possible.
- Place one hand on your upper chest and the other just below your rib cage. This will allow you to feel your diaphragm move as you breathe.
-Tighten your stomach muscles, letting them fall inward as you exhale through pursed lips.

Don’t run around saying ‘I am nervous’ before your performance. Instead, talk to yourself and tell yourself ‘everything is alright and nothing is going to change if things go wrong’. If people around you are trying to tease you by scaring you, then get away from them. Surround yourself with people who believe in you.

Feeling better? There you go!
